Slow down

Wow, life has been so crazy lately, where do I even begin?!
It seems I've been waiting for things in life to start happeneing for such a long time, and now that they finally are happeneing, it's going much to fast. But nontheless, I am so happy God is granting my prayers, and in the short amount of time since my last post, he has given my a job of working at a local buisness serving ice cream (yay!), given me means of getting my dream camera that I've been praying about for years, and on April 7th I will be taking my drivers test, and getting my license. Not to mention I am coming into my last year of school this year, and soon I will be graduated and able to move away from home and persue a career. Ah! So wonderfully crazy! =) I am also going to post some of my recent photos from my "adventures" on the farm, Enjoy!

I got to go fishing for the first time this year, and the pond was just as pretty as I remember! ^

Babies!!!!

Today while doing school, Mom rushed in and told me my sheep, Queen Latifa, that I got from Lisa Rodenfels ( http://somerhillfarm.blogspot.com/ ) had lambs! I was so excited, and they didn't disappoint! Still wet from all those wonderful birthing fluids, there was one ram and one ewe; they are so tiny, and so precious. I took a few pictures, while they were still wet, so I thought everyone would like to see. Now all I have to do is pick names, and get them registered! :)

The little ram. Mom said he "had a face only a mother could love", but I happen to think he's the cutest one!:) ^

Love is in the air

Well today is Valentines Day, and I have already eaten all my chocolates :( hehe...
This is always a kind of strange holiday for me, and I might understand it more if I read up on the meaning, but of coarse I am much to lazy to do that! But anyways, I just wanted to let everyone know that I love you all soooo much, and I hope you enjoy the holiday!

...Translation please?

Last summer, I went to C-HOP (Cleveland House Of Prayer) with a group of friends. While I was there, they did something very interesting with a bible verse. They took a verse and then focused on it intensely, word by word. Through doing this, it allows you to see new meaning of the verse, or see it in a new way that you previously didn't see. It's actually quite fun, as well as challenging. The way they did it there was this: they found synonym for every word (or pair of words, it works better for words like "the" "I" or "in", ect.) And then every so often as the text would allow, we would paraphrase each part in different as to try to and grasp different meanings. I'm going to try it on here, try and follow along if you’re interested! =)

(I'm going to use Psalm 145:2)

"Every day I will praise you and extol your name for ever and ever. Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom."

• Now I'm going to take the first word, Every. Other words for this include: Each, & all.

• The second word is day. Words for this are: Daylight, daytime, & date.

• [I] Will: Determination, resolve, motivation, spirit, force, strength of character, self-control.

• Praise: Admire, commend, extol, honor, & eulogize.

• You: (It is in terms of speaking about God) King, father, God, Jesus, leader or all, divinity, Holy one, creator, Alpha, & Omega.

• [And] Extol: (similar to praise) Admire, exalt, worship, honor, & eulogize.

• [your] Name: Title, & what you’re known as.

• For ever and ever: Everlastingly, eternally, evermore, perpetually, ceaselessly, without end, & constantly.

Now we have our first sentence!!! Paraphrasing is the most enjoyable part (to me), so lets get to it =)

"Each and every time of day, my strength of character and spirit is determined to worship you, my Father God who is the creator and leader or all, and to honor and exalt your name perpetually and without end, evermore."
(Wow! What a powerful sentence!!!!!! =D )

• Now using this technique, I also have:

"Immense and vast is the Father God, and is above all else admirable and valuable of honor, worship and praise; of his magnitude and extent, not a soul in earth is capable of comprehending."

• Putting it together:

"Each and every time of day, my streangth of charctacter and spirit is determind to worship you, my Father God who is the creator and leader or all, and to honor and exalt your name perpetually and without end, evermore. Immense and vast is the Father God, and is above all else admirable and valuable of honor, worship and praise; of his magnitude and extent, not a soul in earth is capable of comprehending."

>> I do not know about you, but this just makes me want to worship until I completely lose my voice!!! =) <<

Brand new!

So once again, I find myself sitting here with nothing particular on my mind.

Although as I am writing this, I realized that the coming of this New Year has also brought an end to a part of my life; I have rounded the bend, as the saying goes. This reminds me of a game me and my younger brother used to play when we were younger. We used to make it a rule, that whenever we drove through a tunnel, we have to hold our breath until we get through to the other end. We were so proud of ourselves if we made it through, and slightly embarrassed if we couldn't. I always remember seeing the end of the tunnel- lungs burning- and letting out a silent cry of relief in my head. This feels like the point in my life, the part where I see the end of the tunnel and let out my hurrah; I've made it! Not that I didn't think I would make it, but of coarse, at times this house seemed a more desolate place than is fair to say. But now, (as I have realized I will indeed make it, and finish strong), I see that time has gone by to quickly, and I have rounded a bend in my life. 2009 brought so many things for me. I stopped looking at what I could get, and more of what I could give. I learned that temptation is easy to defeat in your head, but not so in your heart. I saw that love is easily found, but so much harder to hold onto. I discovered an intense, and passionate love for the arts; photography and drawing especially. I now know that driving is not something pleasurable by any means, although unfortunately it is necessary. Though above all, I have witnessed that there is no satisfaction in anything that is not of God or his pure love.

So here's to 2009 and all the things I learned in it, adios!!!

A cry for Haiti

I'm sure you've all heard -- about 3 days ago there was a hurricane in Haiti. This enormous catastrophe struck thousands of residents there and left nearly a 1/2 a million kill or severely injured. These people have been on my heart, especially in the last 24 hours, and I feel compelled to speak out to my fellow siblings in Christ, and say that we need to act through prayer.

I have heard so many people say that they wish they could 'do something.' I am tired of hearing this; the guilt everyone is feeling because of this event is not worthless, I believe that God is putting this into people hearts and minds so that they will quit using their words, and start using the power or prayer!!!

Through using this amazing potential God has given us through empowerment of prayer, we can help those living in Haiti in ways none of us can even begin to understand.

There are so many things on my mind over this incident, I believe I could write all day on the issue; but I'm afraid it would be futile.

Instead of stating all the negatives of this situation, I will look at the positive effects:

~ People might wake up and realize that sitting here feeling sorry for our fellow being is worthless; and unless you embrace God's plan, you never get any peace.

~YOU MUST MAKE IT UNCOMFORTANBLE FOR SOMEONE TO SIT IN ORDER TO GET A PERSON TO MOVE. And so God has made it uncomfortable for us to do nothing.

~ I have been watching the news, and some of the survivors were worshipping God, and THANKING him for his protection of them. This is true faith, because even in the darkest night, when you truly believe, you can still see the brightest light.

One that note I bid thee farewell, and do not forget to PRAY PRAY PRAY!!!!

Snowy blanket

Today I woke up to get my steaming hot cup of coffee and to go to the Farmers markey with Mama.I looked out the window, and was so excited to see a blanket of delicate white covering much of the yard, pastures, and trees (:

It is amazing to think that it is this season we celebrate Jesus's birth; it seems the world is so much quiter this time of year. My mama said "everything looks so clean!" It just now struck me that the snow, like Jesus, was sent to the earth to make us feel clean and fresh. Such a pure, delicate feeling of freshly fallen snow is so alike the birth of baby Jesus; fresh pure life from God. I am so thanksful for the gift God gave us, I wish everyone a wonderful Christmas, and that we may all feel hte deep fufilling warmth that Jesus gives us, even when outside it may be snowy!

Is it just me, or...

So I've been thinking... I know, dangerous right? But really. I've been thinking alot about God and some beliefs about him. It seems like those who oppose the idea of there being an all powerful, loving, consuming God basically just shut themselves off to ever knowing what that love feels like; and yet, they are still bent on convincing all of those who do believe in him that he and/or his love is not real. Even when faced with facts, evidence, proof and testimonies about God's amazing power, they deny him over and over. But when you look at the other side of this battle; it is completely the opposite. Christians, me being one of them, can see the miraculous things that God is doing everyday, and we get excited about it. But upon seeing this, the opposers always recoil and deny. Even when faced with millions of people believing in Gods love, they are never satisfied! Part of me can understand their denying his love, because when you are born into "the bad part of town", what you see can possibly shake anyone's belief in God's love. "Why, if God is so loving, does he let this happen to people?" I can never explain this, except to say that, all who follow God, he is good too. It is unfair to be born into a society that is cruel, but God does not do this on a whimsy, he always has a plan. Always. And in that we should all take comfort.

My poetry :)

Here are a few poems I conjured up recently:

How to make a painting

Life is a painting,
With each decision as a mark,
On the canvas of your life.

Where you are only as beautiful,
As you paint yourself.

And when it rains,
You better make sure,
Your paint has dried.

Because life changes to much,
To be undecided in your ways.

You will be washed away,
And gone with the wind,
So secure your hold.

Before you make your stroke,
Consider the color, and your brush.

The canvas was white,
Until you started deciding,
What colors you chose.

And the random colors are all
The turns and bumps along the way,

So choose your paints carefully,
And keep and a clean brush,
So your color won’t mix.

And always make sure to wash your hands
After you’re done with a layer.

The canvas is speckled with hope.
Your brushes are all in a line,
So begin, and make your product beautiful.

Meewee!

The Meewee that lives under my bed,
Has purple skin and an unusually large head.

His eyes are large and green,
And although he looks it, he is not at all mean.

His fingers are boney, and his feet are too,
When he smiles you can see his teeth are all cover in goo.

His skin is like leather; all smooth and tough
And he can eat and eat, but it is never enough.

When he giggles, out comes some fire,
And at those times, he is never shyer.

His voice cracks when he talks,
And he has a definite swagger in the way he walks.

His breath was always so fresh and new
It reminded me of the morning, all covered on dew.

He was cheerful and funny; a joy to be around.
I’d known him for years, but I’d never seen him frown.

He bounced off the walls all day and nigh;
He never slept, and never knew fright.

He is the Meewee that lives under my bed.
I know what you think; that he’s just in my head.

But come into my room, you’ll never see anything bounce higher
Than my little purple Meewee that laughs and spits fire.
